Mother's Day and A Girlie Pot-Luck Soiree
Today is a special day to celebrate and commemorate all the wonderful givings and love from Mothers around the world. Be it a mother to a child, a teacher who mothers a student, or a grandmother to a grandchild,
Love you mom, ah ma, por por, ko-ko and yee-yees.

Last night the girls and I had a small pot luck gathering at Yeing's place. I guess we were pretty inspired by all the stylish food programs and decided to channel our inner 'Naked-chefs' or Nigella Lawson and whip up some dishes to be shared.Raspberry & Strawberry Jelly - Yly ; Potato Salad & Oven baked Nuggets - Yeing ; Chicken Wings (she didn't cook this) - Reen ; Streaky bacon, Ham, White mushroom Pasta - Me ; Prawn rolls - Lam (Yly's husband)
Needless to say, we were over-ambitious in preparing food for 4 where else we should be preparing for 1 or at most 2 persons as all present are currently four tiny eaters. Not surprisingly, we ended up with plenty of leftovers.
Coupled with a bottle of Moet bubbly and a string of girlie chatter, this was a good break from the serious conundrum of our weekday lives.
By the end of the night, 2 glasses of cosmopolitan and a can of beer also found its way to the table. Nestled in the covered patio in Yeing's garden, we spent a great Saturday night being girls over drinks and food, and trying clothes from Yeing's new online boutique. :)
Now that I think about it, it's quite funny that we're slowly moving towards the "Pot-Luck" age. Is this a sign of us growing up?

We only took pics of the food and none of us. *slaps self*
