Sepet!

I finally watched Sepet today! Thanks to MingYang's generosity for his original Vcd. Which wasn't very clear, but thank you anyway! =) I am so proud that this movie was made by Malaysians, in Malaysia. This movie really showcased the true essense of our culture and ethnicity differences beautifully. It also voiced out a lot of things which many, are even afraid to state out loud in public.

This is not a typical teenage-bimbotic hollywood love story, although some may find it otherwise. I like how Orked's parents are so open-minded about her being with a chinese boy. Racism has been a huge factor in our lives. It is practice in everywhere you see in this country! Banks, universities, schools, laws.. I mean, what has happened to citizen-equality rights in our so-called democratic modern country? Let's not get too far-stretched, think local.

Well, my question is, do ones skin colour makes him/her more superior than others? This is so ethnocentrical. (as from ethnocentrism, for those who don't know, it means, thinking that ones group is more superior than others.)

I hate racism. But we do succumb to it. Hell, it's a dog eat dog world!

yes. i don't deny the fact that bad apples are use to exist.

Ok, let me explain y i hate indians.
Poor Indians: they usually get daily wedges. paid by every end of the day. then they'll spend it on cheap ass liquor. get drunk and high. then sleep. then go to work the next day. that is how they spend their money! that's y they'll always stay poor. and the best thing is, no matter how much they drink, they'll never get hang over! hahaha.

middle or upper middle class indians: they are usually normal ppl with english educated background. so no comment. but most of them are cocky.

rich indians: as cocky as you can think of. their noses are grown above their forehead!

now come to the malay part.
there are a few types of malays. the very MALAY malay. those who wear carrot-cut or tight jeans with converse all star shoes and fitted with tight-fitting virvana or WWE t-shirt. they'll walk around the street, making hell lots of noises. destroying every single thing that they can find. and they think that is fun!

the normal malays. no comment.

rich malays. they are either bonded with the governments, or the royal family. full of benifits and advantages compared to ANY other people. and most of them are involved in corruption. =) AND their wifes usually drive Merc CLK or SLK when they don't even have to work.

as for chinese. i personally dislike chinese educated chinese. well, not all of them i must admit. i'm a chinese educated one as well. but some of them really behave like some cheap ass monkey from the forest.

well, that's just my 2 cents. =)

I know what you mean. I know of this rich indian guy who is so full of himself and thinks that he can just walk all over anybody and treat them like they're all his servants. And the sad part is? There are actually chinese girls who worship this kind of guys! I myself know of one.

But, you my friend, are one hell of a huge racist! lol..
