The end of an era...

The time has finally come,
For us to face the music
Where did it go?
The everything that was magic

If only time stood still
If only plans stay the same
This is part of life i guess
Only memories remain

After 6 months...

The day i have been working for the past 6 months for has finally arrived. My first ever business conference! The 3 day filled event was my first baby when i started and has become the ONLY baby i will ever manage in this company.

Everything went smoothly save for a few hiccups here and there. Complaints, late arrivals, IT mishaps.. but the cute speaker made up for it. haha. JK.

I was running around like a chicken without its head, coz let's face it, i know nuts about the whole thing and am being thrust into it on that day. But all's good. I think i handled it pretty well.. i hope.

My lovely Mentor and direct Manager, Claire. My marketing leader for the event, Priscilla. My wonderful and sweet Sales leader, Amelia.
And last but not least, the two guys that lights up my days (erm, with lameless :p)Vick - Sponsorship dude and Wyatt - Operations cum Entertainer.

******

Today was the last day for many of us.. it really is sad to leave such a wonderful coccoon of a company. The bunch of people to work it has made even the worst days seem like a breeze. Sigh, a nicer bunch of colleagues would be hard to find.

See you guys again soon k. Don't forget our KTV session!

My future career path

Due to the current uncertainties in the job market, maybe this test might help me target my jobs better.

See if this fits me. :p

You would be very happy in a career that utilised your level-headedness, and allowed you to work mainly on your own. You want a career that allows you to stimulate your senses and your mind, without having to be involved with lots of people. Some careers that would be perfect for you are:

  • Novelist
  • Photographer
  • Vet
  • Medical Technician
  • Paralegal
  • Geologist
  • Marine Biologist
  • Graphic Designer
  • Online Content Developer
  • Webmaster
  • Computer Security
  • Producer
  • Computer Programmer
  • Technical Writer
  • Systems Analyst
  • Meteorologist
  • Artist
You like working and being alone. You like to avoid attention at all costs. You tend to keep to yourself, and not interact much with the people around you. You enjoy spending time with a few a close friends. You like to listen to others, but don't like sharing much about yourself. You are very quiet and private.

You are very practical, and only act after thinking things through. You don't like being forced to answer quickly. You have to evaluate the situation completely. You make decisions based on what you can verify with your senses.

You like to be involved deeply in one or two special projects. You like to be behind the scenes. You are very logical and fair. You feel you should be honest with others at all costs.

You trust what is certain. You only like new ideas if they can be practically applied to the situation. You value what is real. You use your common sense. You like to utilise the skills you have instead of learning new ones. You are very specific and detailed when writing or talking to others. You follow directions well. You like things to be laid out for you to do instead of working them out for yourself. You like decisions to be made. You don't like things to be left in limbo. You like to know what you are getting into before you commit to something.

You like to focus on the here and now. You enjoy completing projects. It is important for you to achieve and succeed. Therefore, you believe in working hard and playing later. You like to set goals and work towards them.

Happy New 2009!

A few people have done the reminiscing of the past year - their accomplishments, achievements, memorable incidents, etc. I don't think i'm much of a 'Resolution' maker, all the time only wishing and hoping for the best.

So a run-down of my 2008:
- I graduated with a first class honours degree! My highlight man
- Moved to another Country to pursue a different but challenging career path
- Earning my first pay check from a professional occupation
- Reached half a decade with the bf
- Became more independent at home (with the departure of dad to become an expat)
- I think i have grown much wiser and calm during trying times
- Comprehended the different dynamics of friendship. Who are the ones who would be here for good and who are just there for the ride.
- Lived like a princess for a week each time i went over to visit dad. Lol.

I want to let those dear to me know:
My family
Thank you for always encouraging and cheering me on. Never failing in believing that I would one day make you proud. At least I hope that's what you guys believed la. hehe.
Love you all!

My Girls, PX, the Uni-Gang
We haven't spent alot of time together lately but whenever we meet up or talk, we are still able to pick up where we've left off. I truly appreciate all your presence in my life, through the hair-clutching frustrating moments to the goofy fun times.
Many more years of friendship, memories and love!

*************
For 2009, I wish for things to be smooth-sailing and joyful. May I have the strength to weather upsets, disappointments and failures joyfully and calmly. May I learn from each and every mistake and success of mine and grow from it. May loved ones, friends and I be well and happy, and free from harm and danger.

No concrete resolution as to not be tied down by other possibilities and changes. But only hope and wishes for the new year. As always. :)

Happy New Year folks!
